My Approach to Therapy

When beginning therapy one should understand that the first session is utilized by both clinician and client to determine if the match is a good one. Also, new clients should not worry about sharing enough details. All that is required will come out naturally. Whether you are on welfare, drive a truck, or are a doctor or lawyer; in therapy everyone is the same. We all find ourselves, at times, facing problems we just can't resolve. Often the key lies in the subconscious mind. The structured nature of authentic psychotherapy leads to awareness and the opportunity to change one's life.

My earlier career focused on work with troubled youth and their families. I frequently receive calls from grownups I once treated as teenagers. My current focus now is on couples, and relationship therapy. I help couples in crisis, and provide effective techniques for quickly reducing, and hopefully resolving conflict. Conflict can be forged into intimacy!

My Approach to Therapy

Are you feeling stuck or out of balance in your life? I believe I can help shift you to a place of increased clarity, focus and positive movement in your life. I assist clients to find solutions to present day challenges as well as address any underlying or unresolved matters that are keeping them in undesirable and unhealthy patterns.

I bring over 20 years of professional experience to the therapy process. I help adults, families, children and adolescents with a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and relationship and family stress.

I incorporate EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique; also known as"Tapping") and eye movement therapy into sessions. These powerful, evidence based Energy Psychology techniques help to more quickly and fully identify, process and release past experiences, negative beliefs and patterns and that keep us stuck. These techniques go beyond traditional talk therapy, allowing emotionally charged material to be processed in a gentle way, with deep and lasting results. Please view my video below to learn more about EFT. I also used the framework of Polyvagal theory to build flexibility and resilience in our nervous system responses to life challenges.

It is my honor to join with clients in their life journey to increase overall life satisfaction and meaning. I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

My Approach to Therapy

Psycho-physiological response to stress, anxiety and depression can immobilize an individual, keep them trapped in a downward spiral, rob them of enjoyment and affect relationships. My goal is to not only to help clarify a client's root problem, but also to uncover a client's core strengths and, using those strengths, provide alternate ways to find a solution. Education about the psycho-physiological responses to life's challenges helps guide clients to an improved state of being.
